This Shipping Policy explains how we process, package, and ship orders from Spirit Gun Works. Firearm sales have specific legal requirements — please read carefully before ordering.
1. Processing Time
Most in-stock orders ship within 2–3 business days of order confirmation. Orders placed after 12:00 PM CT on Friday, weekends, or federal holidays begin processing the next business day. Firearm orders require FFL verification (see Section 3) before they can be shipped, which may add 1–2 business days.
Custom services (Cerakote, custom builds, gunsmithing) have separate turnaround times quoted individually at intake.
2. Domestic Shipping Only
We ship only within the United States. We do not ship internationally, to APO/FPO addresses, or to U.S. territories where firearm importation is restricted.
3. Firearm Shipments Require an FFL
Federal law requires that firearms ship to a Federal Firearms License holder, not directly to a buyer. When you order a firearm you will provide your chosen FFL’s details at checkout. We verify the FFL through the ATF eZ Check system and contact the dealer to confirm they will accept the transfer before shipping. See our FFL Transfer Policy for the full process.
4. Adult Signature Required
All firearm shipments require an adult signature (21+) at delivery. Ammunition shipments require an adult signature (18+, or 21+ for handgun ammunition where applicable). We use USPS, UPS, or FedEx depending on product and destination.
5. Handgun Shipping Restrictions
Handguns and receivers classified as handguns cannot be shipped via USPS by federal law — we ship them via UPS or FedEx overnight. This may increase shipping cost; charges are calculated at checkout.
6. Ammunition Shipping Restrictions
Ammunition shipments have specific carrier and state restrictions:
- Ground shipping only — no air transport of ammunition
- ORM-D or hazmat labeling as required
- State-specific restrictions apply (see Section 7)
7. Restricted States
We do not ship firearms or ammunition to jurisdictions where sale, possession, or transfer of the product is unlawful. In particular, we do not currently ship certain products to:
- California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Connecticut, Maryland, Illinois, Washington D.C. — roster, magazine capacity, feature restrictions, and other requirements may prohibit shipment of specific firearms.
- Cities and counties with additional restrictions (e.g., Chicago, IL; New York City, NY).
It is your responsibility to know what is legal to own in your city, county, and state. If you attempt to purchase a product not legal in your jurisdiction, we will cancel the order and refund the purchase price minus applicable fees.
8. Shipping Rates and Delivery Estimates
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, destination, and carrier. Typical transit times after handoff to the carrier:
- USPS Priority Mail — 2 to 4 business days
- UPS Ground — 3 to 6 business days
- UPS 2nd Day Air — 2 business days
- UPS Next Day Air (required for handguns) — 1 business day
Transit times are estimates provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed.
9. Order Tracking
Once your order ships you will receive a tracking number by email. You can also see tracking in your account order history. Note that firearms are tracked to your FFL dealer’s address, not to yours.
10. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages
All shipments are insured to the full purchase price. If a package arrives damaged, refuse delivery or note the damage on the delivery receipt and contact us within 48 hours with photos. If a package is lost in transit or the tracking indicates delivery but you did not receive it, contact us within 7 days and we will open a carrier investigation. Please allow up to 30 days for carrier claim resolution.
11. Refused or Undeliverable Shipments
If your FFL refuses the shipment, or the package cannot be delivered and is returned to us, we will refund the purchase price minus the outbound shipping cost, our 15% restocking fee, and the $30 FFL coordination fee. See our Refund & Return Policy.
12. In-Store Pickup
Local customers may choose in-store pickup at 15222 King Rd #204, Frisco, TX 75036 during shop hours (Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 2 PM). Firearms picked up in-store still require Form 4473 and a background check. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
